My first encounter with design as a subject was initiated by a simple local product design. This wasn’t like a construction project we are so used to seeing every day. It was a simple and elegant method of channeling water from a waterfall in Shillong alongside the road by means of bamboo (for the purpose of drinking). This opened my mind to the vastness of simplicity and the way people develop things for themselves to improve their present state.
