Site Context
The site has a total area of 6.22 acres and is located in the rural part of Bihar. The area is located between Isapur and Kurkuri villages in the region of Phulwari Sharif in Patna. At present time, India has about 10 lakh government schools in India offering primary education but these schools are in extremely bad shape with some even lacking basic facilities such as electricity & and water.
Area Architecture
The basic mass of the built form is kept low in height (G+1) and spread horizontally to avoid climbing staircases especially in hot climates such as Patna. However, the ground coverage is kept at 30 percent giving the school sufficient space for play areas and other activities.
School Interiors
The classrooms have acoustically enhanced peculiar shapes with welcoming daylight to enhance their ambiance. A decent amount of shaded areas and mini courtyards which is designed to act as multifunctional area. The assembly area is also shaded using a truss and UV Protective Glass System.
